Devil Movie Review: Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, known for his unique script choices now presents a period action drama, the film “Devil” with the tagline “The British Secret Agent”. Directed and produced by Abhishek Nama, the story unfolds in Rasapadu, a British province, where the landlord’s daughter, Vijaya (Ammu Abhirami) is mysteriously murdered.
Agent Devil (Kalyan Ram) is tasked by the British government to solve the murder mystery, which will lead to shocking revelations.
As the story progresses, Devil takes on a new mission, “Operation Tiger Hunt”, which raises many questions about its connection to Vijaya’s murder.
To know the answer the film must be watched.
The film’s strengths are its interesting story, well-integrated subplots, powerful characters and layers.
The murder mystery is cleverly interwoven with patriotic themes, and the second part unfolds with well-executed twists that fit seamlessly into the story.
Kalyan Ram’s dialogue delivery adds magic to the film and leaves a deep impact. His portrayal shows versatility, starting with a subtle performance and turning into a ferocious embodiment as the story unfolds.

The downside is that the story lacks grip in the first hour, and the slow pace and some unnecessary scenes hamper the film.
The first half, though starts on an interesting note and fails to maintain complete engagement.
Technical Aspects: This also features song compositions by Harshvardhan Rameshwar, which received mixed reviews, the background score is good but there is scope for improvement. Soundar Rajan’s cinematography is neat and the artwork adds to the value of the film. However, the editing could have been tighter.
Srikanth Visa’s story and impactful dialogues on patriotism and the hero’s character are highlighted as the biggest assets of the film.
Despite the below-average execution in the first half, the latter hour has been handled well.
